Saint Pierre le Jeune

Partenariat avec les anglicans de Saint-Alban

Partnership with the protestant parish of Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune

Closer ties are being forged between St Alban’s and Saint-Pierre-le Jeune, an historic protestant church in the heart of Strasbourg. In 2022, the two parishes began a shared ministry under the Reuilly Agreement of 2001, which commits Anglican churches in the United Kingdom and the Lutheran and Reformed churches of France to take steps toward closer fellowship and unity.

Revd Barwick has been appointed to a position with the Union of Protestant Churches of Alsace and Lorraine, assisting Pastor Philippe Eber of Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune. He regularly participates in the liturgical and pastoral ministries of the church, leading in worship and Bible studies. Pastor Eber will likewise preach and offer assistance at St Alban’s.

In these times of deepening divisions, this partnership initiated by the leadership of our Churches under the Reuilly Accords, between Protestants and Anglicans in France, is surely an opportunity to discover and reaffirm our common life and mission through Jesus Christ.
